Clearing the air on ant “smells”

TikTok was recently overwhelmed with the aroma of dead ants. 

Well, not the aroma itself but a debate over their smelly carcasses. Some respondents to a video on the social media platform said they could smell squished ants while others disputed the claim. The magazine Popular Science called on Kennesaw State University assistant professor of biology Clint Penick, an ant researcher, to clear things up.
